In medicine, we have morbidity and mortality (M&M) rounds when a patient dies unexpectedly since it is rarely one mistake that leads to a death. Usually many have erred, often understandably, but sometimes through negligence or incompetence. The goal is to learn from our mistakes and change the system rather than indict any one person.
I have cried on and off today thinking of the Bibas babies. Today, in examining their deaths, evil and refusing to recognize it has to be added to the list of “errors.” Indictments are sorely missing. There is a lot of blame for this unspeakable cruelty to go around.
First and foremost, it is Hamas, the heir of Nazis, who bears greatest responsibility. But Hamas did not kidnap Shiri Silberman and her beautiful babies. Perhaps the abductors were Palestinian civilians or Kataib Mujahidin as reported. Thousands of civilians streamed into Israel after Hamas invaded, to join in the looting, rape, murder, torture and kidnapping on October 7.
Who taught these civilians to dehumanize and hate Jews? UNWRA must bear responsibility for their antisemitic schools,as do imams preaching lethal antisemitism in their mosques. How is it possible that there is not one righteous gentile who has saved a single hostage? Is there not even a mercenary one after Israel offered millions in rewards?
The Islamic Republic of Iran spread their vile ideology, all across the Middle East and funded these mass murderers. Russia disseminated Soviet inversions that justified the hatred of Jews. China spread its misinformation throughout the west via TikTok, leading to Hamas apologists in liberal democratic countries. Qatar spent billions funding the Islamic Brotherhood and its military arm, Hamas. Qatar funds Al Jazeera to spread hate, dressed up as news.
The United Nations and its courts give fodder to the Jew haters, rationalizing and confirming their animosity. The International Red Cross Committee has yet to visit a single hostage in captivity, only offering complicity and signatures at Hamas’ gruesome handover ceremonies.
Amnesty International, Doctors without Borders, Human Rights Watch and other NGO‘s became cheerleaders for depravity and silent when it came to the Bibas babies’ deaths. Many used the Bibas family as a twisted example of how Hamas does not wish to harm women and children, while abducting them.
Netanyahu reminds me of the hapless, tired and overworked junior staff that are sometimes responsible for hospital errors. I understand that he is a wiley and experienced politician, but his mistakes were inadvertent. Netanyahu is portrayed by Hamas and their fans as the vampire dripping blood. He could not be farther from that image. Netanyahu spent almost two decades quietly transferring Qatari money to Gaza hoping to buy peace. In retrospect, it was a disaster. Hindsight is 20/20; an oft repeated maxim at M&M rounds. Netanyahu equivocated, being bullied by the US and not going into Rafah earlier. Who knows how that would’ve turned out? There is reason to mistrust the reports of his intransigence in hostage negotiations. They generally come from sources with their own political interests. US sources have been clear that Hamas was always the impediment.
The mistakes of the IDF that led to October 7 are slowly leaking out. We shall see but their blame is a miniscule drop in the bucket compared to the barbaric evil of Hamas, its funders and apologists.
My neighbour tore down a poster of the deliciously cute Kfir and then denied that she had any ill intent. Will any of these haters mourn our perfect Jewish children?
I stood on a cold sidewalk on Eglington, protesting UNICEF’s indifference, on Kfir Bibas’s second birthday. But he was dead long before that day, condemned by a network of evil doers, most of whom will suffer no consequences.
The lesson we are learning painfully, over and over again, is to believe them when genocidal terrorists threaten to kill every Jew worldwide. We learn that many in the human rights world can’t seem to recognize depravity if the target is Jews. There may be a lesson about resilience but today, it is far too early. Today we grieve.
The world is fucked.
The West has collapsed.
As far as I’m concerned the brain-dead Witkoff Deal is dead now and Israel has zero obligations.
I’m so sick of Orange Paper Tiger saying they’ll be all hell to pay and it never is paid. All (hair) hat and no cattle. Unlike me (and others who’ve been screaming deportation for years) he’ll never make it happen. He is not our messiah either it turns out.
Shiri Bibas’s morbid body double was the final straw for me. The deal is off.
Are there 10 adults in Gaza/Sodom who are not pure evil? No, there are not.
I know what I would do. Whether we do it before or after we get the last Jew out dead or alive is the only thing I’d have to think about.
I had mixed feelings about it. I believe that her excuse, that she had no idea what she was tearing down, is exceedingly unlikely. But I am not interested in a personal fight with her.
